Coming from south side of town.....heading south to honeoye or conesus or somewhere south of town.  Prefer not to drive up to the lake first if possible.  New to the area and still figuring things out.

Is there a shop in honeoye, lakeville or perry by chance?

Gander's website says they have live bait......does that just mean worms and crawlers?

I think you are right about Ganders bait.  They don't have minnows unless they made changes recently.  I believe there is a towing shop on the east side of Honeoye that sells minnows and grubs.  They were a little pricey though.

Ted in Lakeville is good because he opens early. Outdoor store in Bloomfield is good too but they open later. I get my bait there the night before

I got minnows from Ted's 1/7. Kept the bait for this past weekend and only lost 2 in between trips. Great bait , better guys. Right in the village next to outlet.

I bought Wax Worms off eBay a few weeks @ 250 for $ 12.00,  The bait arrived in 3 dats, quite alive and well. I have been buying grubs, this way for years. The price of Mouse Grubs is so high now, most bait shops eon't carry thdm!

Teds in lakeville or Mitchell's in charlotte as already stated are the best bait shops around. Ted always has great advice, gear and bait. Mitchells has always been reliable, fairly priced and very reputable. I cant speak for the shop on honeoye but i can say dont waste ur time at gander, even when they had minnows they were probably imported from china :woot:

I second S and R. The minnows are always the hardiest. Mithchells are good people and Ted's are gteat too.

Southbay was the only place to have minnows last year during the perch frenzy.

Southbay is the old Bayside?
When did they re-open?  They had closed down twice over the past 10 years or so (I think they changed ownership at least once in that span).
It is definitely closer/more convenient for me to go there.
So they are open now and have minnows?

Yes! I think its two younger twin brothers running the shop. Even worked on my old Johnson 200hp on my bass boat and put in a new bildge pump. Good guys and good bait. Since I'm in Greece I usually head to Mitchell's. But I'll definitely be back there and I would go there more often if I was on that side of town.

Thanks Steve.
Found them on the internet.  Only drawback is that is looks like they do not open until 9:00 AM.
