Smitty Sled Art...Too Much?
« on: Jan 13, 2017, 04:49 PM »
I do metal art as a hobby.

So I thought I would combine that with ice fishing

The frame is 1.5" x 1.5" Aluminum and the rest is 304 Stainless

I have a harness, but I still need to get a long pull rope and a couple of bungees to strap on the shanty

I've never used a Smitty Sled before. But if it makes it as easy to pull my shanty as I've heard, I will be very pleased.

Good Luck All

That is sir is a beauty to behold. If it pulls as half as great as it looks. You will be well pleased.

Trust me, when the Zamboni driver says "You won't catch fish through that hole", he knows of what he speaks.

WOW! Thanks for all the positive feed back! it is much appreciated!

I draw The fish on the computer from photos of actual fish to get the most realist look I can.
Then I have to convert the drawings into programs to be laser cut. The parts also have to be formed on a press brake.
Right now I think they would be too pricey to produce and sell, but I'm am working on some things that may not be.
I added a close up on the gill to see that the stripes are small scale shaped cuts.

I got to use it tonight for the first time. the difference is amazing! it is so much easier to pull now.
If any one is still on the fence about how much a Smitty Sled helps, you need to get one tomorrow.
Luckily we can contact the original Smitty on this web site. He has plans and/or kits available.
The sooner you get a Smitty Sled, the sooner you can kick yourself for not having one years ago :)

Good Luck All
