I was on 5" last night, top 1" wasn't great, appeared to be fine under that. However there was a lot of water standing on the ice. That was in Whitley County

any updates around Northwest Indiana on ice? Drove by Flint and Loomis and couldn't tell on Flint but looked like Loomis was still locked up?

I checked Three Rivers in Lake Station today at 3:00 pm. The shore line is shot but I drilled a hole of the end of the dock and had 4-5 inches of what looked like good solid ice. The same results at Grand Blvd lake. Both lakes are about the same size and right down the road from Issac Walton in Hobart. If the shore line tightens back up I think the ice will be good for the derby.

By the way, the shore had a thin layer of ice but you could put your hand through it.

Had 4-6 inches last night at a old gravel pit near state line , but shore was shot. I stood at the launch and just watch the water run into the lake openings... had to get on via dock but did happen to land my personal best gill!

Was on a good solid 8+ inches if clear slolid ice last night in NC In...wore out the crappies after dark... the edges were even solid

Fished two ponds in porter county today shoreline was very iffy on both but they still had about 5 inches of good ice on rest of ponds. Hope this helps.

Varies, on a pond satuday 5", on Crooked (both Steuben) yesterday morning a good 8 " won't be the case by the end of the week I'm afraid!

Mud Lake in Miami county had plenty of good ice and shore was no problem but that will change very quick. I would say one day before it gets tough. A few guys on Nyona also with same probable issue.
