Another plug for Vexilar customer service.

I bought a used Vex last week with the tri beam ducer which was cracked. One phone call and a week later i am the proud owner of a brand new tri beam transducer  ;D

It literally couldn't have been any easier or smoother!
Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.

These days it's always good to hear of any company that takes care of the customer because it seems to be becoming a rarity anymore.

same here called on a Monday, mailed old ducer on tues  new one in my box by Monday great service.

whats the problem with these cracking?
the older ones that had a red band around them that had tribeam in white lettering .the 1st edition ducers. that red band would crack because of the brittle material used.vexilar went with a different company to make those older tri beams and has went back to the original ducer maker with no problems.the new tribeam looks just like a proview except it has a red bottom with no red plastic ring around it.
