Milwaukee drill
« on: Jan 09, 2017, 08:24 AM »
My old Milwaukee finally died.  It was an older model that I used on my auger.   Does anybody know of any deals or sales to pick up a new Milwaukee drill?

Thanks.

I just bought the Milwaukee Fuel (1200"/lbs) hammer drill with 3 (three) 5.0ah batteries for $299. You can get the drill/driver for $279(and 3 batteries), but that was out of stock, so I went with the hammer drill for $20 more.

299 seems to be the set price.  I haven't been able to find a better price.

kb- they have the drill/driver in their stores for $299, but it only comes with 2 batteries. If you go online, they have it for $279 with three batteries. Or you can upgrade to the hammer drill for $299.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M18-FUEL-18-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-1-2-in-Drill-Driver-Kit-W-Free-M18-5-0Ah-Battery-2703-22-48-11-1850/300508097

It is still showing out of stock, but they told me it would be back in stock this week.

$299 is a very good deal when you consider a 5.0 ah battery is almost $100- so basically getting one for free!  ;)

$279 -$300 is the price but theres a promotion going on some places now where you get a 3rd 5.0 battery included which is about $100 separately, so make sure you look for that!

Do you need just a bare tool/drill or are you looking to replace it with a new model drill combo/kit?

The bare tool is dirt cheap.  Are your old batteries still OK, if so look on line.

I probably got about 5 years out of it.    But I use it around the house all the time.  This past summer I rebuilt my deck with it.  It really owes me nothing.   It has had a rough life.  Lol

Well I just ordered it through HD.  With three batteries, it will serve the rest of my tools as well.    Thank you all.

AcmeTools.com has the M18 drills on sale for $100 off.  Reg $349 and now $249.  Depending on whether you need the whole kit or bare tool, you can call them at 877-345-ACME (2263) and see what other offers they have running.  Milwaukee is always running different sales incentives.

Just got mine today and attached the Kdrill to it.  I have noticed that when I let off on the trigger there is a hard stop like a brake.  Is this how it is supposed to operate? Seems like it might be hard on the transmission.  Maybe I don't have it set up right?

I just put my auger on my Fuel last night and noticed the same thing. Seemed like if I released the trigger slower, it wasn;t as bad.

Milwaukee is releasing a 9.0 battery, which by rumor, will drill double the amount of holes that the 5.0 battery will drill.  I have had zero issues with the 4.0 batteries, drilling 30 to 40 holes a day.

The Milwaukee 9.0 battery is available for purchase already. I will be testing one out with my 8" K Drill this weekend. We will see how close I can get to drilling 100 holes with 2 5.0 batteries and 1 9.0 battery.

Well, finally got to test my Milwaukee Fuel! This thing is a BEAST!!!!!!!!!!!!! I drilled 20+ holes in 10" of ice with an 8" Strikemaster auger and it ripped the holes with ease! Still had 3 of 4 bars on battery. I went home and charged the battery back up. Next time since I have 3 batteries, I will use the same battery on multiple outings before charging and see how many holes I can get out of a single battery.

This is lightweight, easy to handle and best part is I can loosen chuck, drop the auger and have a great drill to use around the house.  @)

Well, after a 2 week layoff(off the ice!  ::)) I finally got it back on the ice. It had 10 holes on the battery. I drilled 15 more and on the 15th(actually 25th total) it went from 3 to 2 bars. This is after sitting in the case for 2 weeks and not trying to keep it warm. (it was inside when not in use)  I am convinced this thing has all the torque and battery life I will ever need!  ;)

Is that with the 5.0 ah battery?

I just completed my test on Sat................... ............ 52 holes in an avg of 9" of ice.  :o  I have 3 batteries, but I doubt I will ever have to use more than 1!

Yeah, that was with one of the 5.0ah batteries.  Next purchase will be the 9.0ah battery.  Gas auger is now for for sale.

Last year I went with the Milw. 5AH Drill and comboed(is that even a word) it with the 6" orange nils auger that is made for cordless drills and can't believe I waited so long!!! Jiffy just sits in the garage! So much lighter and I never even need to use the second battery that came with the kit! If anyone is on the fence about using a Milw Drill to turn an auger you have NOTHING to worry about!!!

I'm just starting to shop around and am thinking of going to the 2703-20 drill only and buying the 9.0 battery separate. Or may just hold off until they start packaging the drill with the 9.0.
