Tried shanon a couple of weeks ago and hooked into a couple decent browns suspended in about 30 feet of water. Other than that very slow so far.

I didn't know Shannon had brown trout?  Thought it was a walleye, pike, perch lake.
Get outside.  It does a body and mind good!

Shannon Lake in the Narrow Hills P.P (Hanson) has lots of trout. Shannon Lake near Wakaw is a waste of time.

I beg to differ.
My drinking team has an ice fishing problem.

Can you drive on at Shannon (near Wakaw)?  Any places to avoid?  Any general idea of where the fish might be found on this lake?  WE did really good the one day we went out there this summer fishing by some trees in the middle of the lake with green jigs and double tails.

You can definitely drive on - not much snow out that way and I saw several vehicles on it this weekend as I drove past.  I can't help you with places to avoid or where to fish though as I don't know.

Well, lots of ice out there today. Basically bottomed out the auger all over the lake. Unfortunately that means I drilled about 50 holes all over the lake and never even saw a mark on the flasher. Buddies kid had one bite early in the day and that was it. If anyone has some tips on this lake I would definitely appreciate it.

I have never been to Shannon but take this for what its worth. We have a few lakes around home that fish fairly well in the summer but are absolute busts in the winter. What I found this year was having a flasher and heading into deepest part of the lake or close to those areas use a rattling/flashy type bait. I always use a rippin rap , most of the time you will get marks to come in and then can refine technique and or bait from there. lots of the shallow, basin type lakes can be a tough fish in the winter time and I personally don't like to fish real deep in winter for the sake of the fish but lots of times that's where they are. not always of course.
