Ice report on Lake Iowa and Darling Lake Park ponds
« on: Jan 04, 2017, 05:22 PM »
Looking to see if anybody had information on the ice conditions for Iowa Lake. I heard some people on belvadere so I assume Lake Iowa would be the same if not better.

I am also interested in Lake Darling, DNR report sounds like the lake will not be ready, but the ponds around the lake I was wondering about.

Thank You

No reports on the ice but know of a few guys that were catching 11" crappie last fall.  One of them was the park ranger up there.  Our ponds down here are good to go and some guys were even fishing our 20 acre lake just north of fairfield

Fished Saturday 1- 0 dark thirty and was successful in catching many fish, however most on the small side. Kept 5 nice redears for the frying pan

I was able to get out on Iowa lake and just like others have said lots and lots of small fish. I probably could have sorted them out to make a meal. I was fishing down towards the dam in 20 FOW. My finder lit up like a xmas tree and they were suspended and I was hoping for crappie but they were all gills
