Had a few days of safe ice in december then it all melted. When do you think there will be safe ice again?

We have good ice right now 01/03/17  Trucks are driving on it at Clear Lake.   You have no location in your profile so I can't say when or if, you, will have any ice.
take care,
Dave  :>)

Plenty of good ice, this cold spell is only going to help firm things up a bit and get the more casual ice fisherman out and about.

Good ice here on the eastern side. 5-8", most places at the 8" mark. Shaded spots up to 10"+

Ice up here in most places are 14" or better. What does up to 10"+ in shaded areas mean, so the ice can be 2" or 7" or 10"?  Are these shaded areas the same ones that can be ice fished into May?
