Happen to know of ice conditions on Hebron side of lake by any chance?

Loon Island at the north end of the lake. This was on the Newfound Lake Association facebook page. Nice video Jiggin, let the games begin.

Thanks for the pic! Can't tell how the ice is there, trying to find someone who can get a report on that. No worries if not, but would be great. Haven't fished my spot in 2 years because of last year's weather not locking up this part well.

Coming up to hit the ice this weekend. Not sure if we're going to hit Newfound or not though. Never seem to have any luck by the beach and as far as I know the boat ramp is still open water.

After work today headed to the bob house. On the 60 ft hole. Had a couple of visitors, Dragon and Dustin (needs a handle) came out for a bit. While visiting Dustin notice the motivator line kept coming undone. I thought it was a over stressed smelt but later i checked it and it was a very small yellow perch. I got a picture of him. Couldn't even get the smelt down it's throat, was lodged and couldn't spit it out. Hard to believe he was that deep down at 60 fow.

My C-Fish camera only has 50 ft of cable and the Marcum i found out tonight has a spider web fracture on the inside of the plastic lens cover. The camera and monitor work great except the camera only sees the spider web fracture. Hoping i can send back to Marcum to replace the lens cover......we shall see.

Was going to have dinner out in the house but decided to go home and be with CH instead. Back at it tomorrow with no camera just the fish finder.

Hey Jiggin.  The new aqua-view I got has 100ft of cable.  I used it for the first time last weekend and I love it.  I don't plan on ever fishing with a flasher again.

I have this camera , and so far I have not changed the original battery and it lasts sunrise to sundown...I have had it for3 seasons so far and like it......like the 100 foot cable, and the video output in case I want a bigger monitor, and I use the marcum "cable turner" to rotate camera....this setup has worked for me

I like having 100ft or cable I love fishing feeling holes for lakers, can't decide what I want to upgrade to but it's time for a new camera my old black and white sportscam isn't cutting it anymore, and I'll be buying a aqau vu camera rotator this season to rotate my camera electronically

Made it back out today around 7:30 am as i needed to get bait outta my bait box, should of gotten it last night. Fished all day with nothing to show for it. They were constant on the fish finder but couldn't get them to hit anything. Tried cut bait on bottom with a spring line, motivator, jigs kastmaster with both smelt and cut bait, pimples with both, #9 pimple with both, and several different bucktails. I think they were just eating chum but wouldn't even take that with a hook in it either.

Laker Taker controlled the board today.

Got 2 new next generation Newfound Circus members today: Sasquatch and Polar Bear. Both local.

Left the lake around 8 pm calling it a day. Will need to bounce the house to another location tomorrow morning. Waiting for the north end of Mayhew to freeze up so we can get outta Cummings.

More tomorrow....

On a separate note: Today MarCum wrote back to me about my camera cover. They said they couldn't repair it however could replace it. They needed to see pictures which i sent tonight. Update on this later too.

Cold morning with the wind blowing. 8F and with wind chill was -10F.

Last night i made sure everything was ready to travel before i left, hooked on this morning and off i went. Over to Grants cove in 31 fow. Right off the bat had one on the spring line but that was it for the rest of the day.

Fern (Momma Laker Taker) brought us out some cookies today....although i had to share mine with Beerhog they were delicious. Beerhog controlled the board all day long today...with 1 laker so that was his prize. Cookies were damn good!

Had bacon and eggs for breakfast (thanks CH for cooking) and then for dinner a ribeye on the grill.

Just as i was winding down getting ready to pick up, i started seeing them on the fish finder....not sure if lakers or cusk. They still wouldn't bite. :(

Nice day otherwise.

Psycho and Scruffy got their houses on the lake, as well as Dragin. More houses getting launched today. Starting to get full off of Cummings.

Good to see.

Been wondering the same.
My guess is Stephanie is nesting in her new crib?

Good luck on the Marcum replacement, JIGGIN.

Does everybody eventually make the move to the area in front of Whittemore brook? I noticed a huge colony of houses there a few years ago and figured it was the "circus".

Set the house out yesterday off of Cummings. Didn't fish much, trying to get set up and playing with the new Marcum. I have 43 feet of water under me and a soft bottom. Marked a couple, but no takers. Just felt good to be on the ice again

Hi BrookieSlayer99,, No not everyone....we all move to our different fav locations throughout the season as the ice thickens. We don't travel in packs but start out that way at Cummings Beach. That's why we use the Motorola's on Channel 5.5 so we can communicate during the day / night etc..
Where you mention is a good spot to fish so it's no surprise theres a colony of houses there.

The Newfound Circus is for everyone that fishes Newfound, not just a certain few. I have several GoPro's that i like to pass out and then collect back at the end of the day so folks can film from their perspective / experience on Newfound. Then i roll them all into our videos. The more footage the better the videos.

Hope you make it out this season.

Cheers.
