Went to lake too check on bobhouse walked buy a few houses to get to mine and everyone seemed fine, got to mine, and had about 2" of water around house...must have been in a low spot...punched a 4" hole about 25 feet away, and seemed to help a lot.....stuck my hand in hole to see how thick it was, and amazingly there was around 10 "..(measured with skimmer)......more rain tonight..  ::)
ICE TO THE TOP PLEASE!!!.....

Checked my house on foot tonight. Wasn't able to check any other houses other than Beerhog's as we are on the other side of the lake from everyone else. Beerhog's house is high and dry.

Mine not so much, had about ankle deep water around the house so drilled a couple of small holes to get the "toilet flush" going, Draining the water around the house.

Warm night and calm. Really nice out actually.

 Awesome Job Jiggin! Great Views of Newfound!

Not bad at all for the first flight. If I were flying it... I'd be worried I'd end up crashing it into the lake! Never to be seen again. Lol

No, as of right now no. We've had warm weather and rain this week. Well over 40f w a lot of water on the lake. In fact I and a few others had to drill drain holes near our houses to get rid of some of the water this week.

With warm weather coming next week it's not looking so good.

Lol, That's why CH out fishes me....she's more serious about catching them than I. I like to capture the moments and she likes to capture the lakers.  ;)

The good news is I've caught a ton of lakers in my life time and i really enjoy seeing her get em and having fun with them. I don't let her get too far ahead of me though, even if i have to take additional days off to catch up. Im ok with that too. Makes it more of a challenge for me.

Boy was it windy out there tonight !!.....some gusts up to 40 m.p.h.!!
Was going to bump house, but ma nature said "nope not today sir"...
Got to my house, and noticed a relatives house who was close to mine was there no more...
Me and laker taker took a ride around lake and found it about a mile south of where it was anchored...
Re-anchored it down and made sure it would make it through the night...
Must teach him a few "newfound techniques"

Holy crap...a mile away??
I'm bringing out my first hard side tomorrow... may have to check in with you for some of those techniques myself! (If you don't mind) 😜
I think I've got it covered with some 2 by's, rope and ratchet straps for anchors...
If you see an "orange crush" colored aluminum shack coming out, that'll be the wife and I.
Can't wait to get out there!

Today conditions were warm, top of the ice was some what hard but was softening up and there were patches of spots that had crusty ice on top. Later towards evening it started getting colder. Beerhog's house had some issues with coming off the blocks so i made sure it was tied tight to the ice. No water around his house so it won't freeze in. Super High Winds today, had to lean into it to walk. With every chisel punch, you got a face of ice shavings sand blasted into you. Pretty cool watching it blow down the lake. Around Cummings Beach and South towards the foot of the lake, there is plenty of ice...around 10".

Tomorrow will be cold but low winds from what I'm seeing. Then next week it warms back up with some rain etc and nights aren't that cold either. Hoping we at least maintain ice conditions.

Heard ZZ and Outdoorlife made it up to the lake with their houses today.

Circus getting bigger.....

The drone footy is awesome. I'm dying to get one this year. My two buddies and I will be heading out to Newfound tomorrow morning. First time fishing out there, and my buddies first time using his underwater camera. It should be fun. Like you mentioned Jiggin, COLD but at least the wind won't be ridiculous.

Best place at the moment is either Cummings beach or at the foot of the lake (south end).

Good luck!

Laker Taker and i had an awesome day. Got to the lake at dark thirty. Had to go slow up the lake as the lake it glare ice and the sled kept wanting to come around. Parked the wheelers on Mayhew and walked to the North end from there. Fished till dark thirty. Cold all day but no winds. Perfect ice fishing weather.

Laker Taker ended the day with 5 lakers and i with only 1. We saw plenty of lakers no the camera, a rainbow right under us and a sucker checking out our jigs.

Flew the drone and got a lot of video of today's adventure. Was able to fly it to Cummings beach (those that were there might have seen the drone) and to Whittemore point. There is a big open hole in between the boat launch at Wellington and the Condos at Whittemore. Also it looks like there is open water or tissue ice around the north end of Whittemore point.

More later! GO PATS!

If you move South, towards the town beach you have lots of ice but if you move North you may be able to get close to Mayhew Is. but ice may be sketchy as you move toward "the broads" north of Mayhew.
I believe jiggin and company walked on land to access new ice at the north end of Mayhew island.
Good luck!
