Gimli
« on: Dec 31, 2016, 11:37 PM »
I have never seen as many shacks off the pier and close in at Gimli before. Usually two or three with at least one that gets moved away as the season progresses. They also have a nice access from the beach a little north of Lakeview. AND....ploughed roadways leading out and following the curve of the pier. I drove out, but didn't stop to ask how anyone was doing. Reminded me of some of the bigger lakes in Minnesota that have road signs and ploughed roads.

that's awesome....years ago Mr. thunder on L. of the woods would plow a road onto the ice for miles, wish more of this would happen on our lakes, but I do understand that it would become costly.

I remember that quite well as I used it a few times when I had a cottage at Buffalo Point. The ice road was made to reach his rentals that were often situated near the sandbar (structure in Buffalo Bay).
