Bruce Lake is located in the Delaware State forest.  It's on the Bruce Lake Nature Trail a short distance from Promised Land State Park.  There are two lakes on that trail - Egypt Meadow and Bruce Lake.   The trail is hiking only (no motor vehicles) and Bruce Lake is about 2.5 miles from the parking lot at the trail head.  Egypt Meadow is about 1.5 miles from the trail head.  Both lakes are about 50 acres.  Again, walk-in only so pretty much nobody ice fishes Bruce.  Egypt Meadow gets some ice fishermen.  Scroll back on this thread a bit and you'll see a few posts on both lakes.

there are 2 seperate trails for each lake, the Egypt Meadow trail is closer to I84. It used to be a simple hiking trail but they widened it and made it a jeep trail, probably back when they fixed the dam at EM. Me and some buddies hit EM this year. Didn't know they widened the EM trail so we took the hike up the Bruce lake trail. Long drag, took about 45 min to an hour. the lake is pretty young still since the drain down. We iced one ok pickerel that went back and about a dozen 5" perch. We left early and went to the lower lake. When we left we decided to use the EM trail, we were back at the trailhead in 5 min. Luckily one of the guys I was with had arrived late and parked there so he shuttled us back to get our cars. We didn't get to Bruce but the Bruce lake trail goes right by EM and then 1.5 miles on to Bruce, somewhere around 3 miles I think total. Long drag. The EM trail has a branch off to go to Bruce but I didn't go that way so I don't know what it's like or how long.

the ice is fine. bring yer smitty sled though cuz yer probably gonna need it! The wind is blowing the snow around and I'm hoping the ice is pretty clear but I'm betting the drag is gonna be tough in most places.

LOL! I have done that a few times while "tapping the morning coffee"!  ;)  That is why I usually don't try it if the shoreline is iffy.

it was good fishing with you buddy. With the weather turning like it did, we will be on soft water in no time. That's one good thing about the softwater months, get out on the yak with a fishfinder and you get to learn a lake pretty fast ;)
