Fished it yesterday, 3-4" ice in some areas 4-5".I went out off of blush hill straight out.Just jigging, caught a lot of perch. Threw back the little ones.Ended up with my limit.6-8 big perch. Rest 9-10".Caught one small brown, released it.Fishing has really gotten better there.
I know of two access areas to the rez.One up by the dam and the park entranceOff of 100 in waterbury.which one is blush hill??
Thanks for the report! Hopefully it'll get another inch soon!
Blush Hill is the one off of 100 in Waterbury (that road is Blush Hill road, and ends at the boat launch)
Thanks. Dont they close the road there in the winter..limitingThe parking..??
Be careful going down there since when the road is icy or muddy it's a lot easier to get down to the water than back up the hill on the way out.
It is definitely easy to drive on the lake unintentionally. We watched a Honda Accord come down the road way too fast and they stopped 10' on to the ice after sliding all the way down the ramp.[/quoteNo problem for a Honda!
The road to the State Park is gated by the dam, but the dam access is open.Part of the beauty of this reservoir is its relative inaccessibility, in my opinion
Totally, I'm all good for a little nature walk;) So the dam access... you mean the boat launch area right at the dam?
The fishing is great almost anywhere you go, if you want an easy place to catch trout this is the spot.
Only if you like catching stocked dink 10" to 12" browns and bows.
