Where were you getting these thicknesses? South bay, Strawberry acres, or Eagle point?

Was on eagle point this morning. Caught a few between the three of us but nothing to speak of really. Excited to go out Monday. Definitely enough ice for a wheeler.

Has anyone been out in the last few days? Wondering if I can bring my fourwheeler on eagle point?

I've been there all day long december 29th. A good 6" of ice at Strawberry acres. I think that it would have been safe to travel all across the lake. Good perch bites. 2 dozens of 10" + and 2 6-7lbs pikes. All caught in 25 FOW just after a drop from 12-13 FOW.

I haven't been to gog in a couple years, but would like to hit it this winter. Do people still catch smelt by the twin islands?

Keith - historically the Twins were consistent smelt producing area.
Last year I found lots of small 2-3 inch smelt.
I expect this year if water conditions are right should be a lot of smelt.

We were catching some slab yellows last weekend and they were spitting up smelt and snails. My buddy put a spot up smelt and landed a nice 19" laker.

Fished Monday 2nd and Friday 6th January, near the Province Island. 7 to 10 inches of safe ice. 6 to 8 inches of snow on the west shore.

Hello
Went to Magog today. Not many people out today. Only one truck in the parking lot at Strawberry at 7:15 am.
Plenty of ice 12 to 13 inchs at least. We went left out in front of shanty town and
down toward the shore past the tower. There were 3 or 4 trucks out there and everyone
was catching perch. We caught at least 100 between the 2 of us from 7:30 to 10:45.
Kept 17 a piece and let the rest go. Sizes from 3 to 11". Good mediums at 7 and 8."
We were very happy! Wind was brutal.

Went out from Eagle point today and fished the northern twin island for smelt. Caught a few, but not a great day. Plenty of ice, and no snow. Wind was strong in AM and then slowed down. Trucks were all over the ice, and people were parking on the ice in the access bay. Never thought that having 20 trucks parked side by side was a smart move, but the NEK does what the NEK wants.

That's for sure.
Definitely an interesting bunch of people. Might have to join them when I'm older. It's amazing, and frustrating, how much warmer the Champlain Valley is than the rest of Northern VT. I can't believe that you guys are already driving on, when all of our ice is beginning to dwindle, and it's not like Magog is a little body of water either!
