Be up Sunday afternoon. Can't wait. All of the posts saying it's been slow compared to years past aren't going to stop me. May be fewer fish this year but we are going to chase the crap out of them. Erie failed again this year so any walleye on ice is a good one in my book. Good luck and if anyone wants to share anything please do. I plan on posting from the ice with coordinates if we find something.

The bay has been beyond slow so we went North yesterday and it paid off!

Dude, you posted the same pictures in another thread saying this was in gwinn. So which was it? LBDN or Gwinn?

He said he went "north", gwinn is north of LBDN. Many locals have given up on LBDN. I live 2 miles from LBDN and travel 50 or 60 miles most of the time if I want to catch fish.
It's more important to be nice, than it is nice to be important.

Got to LBDN today. Fished the evening. Had a couple bites but pretty dismal. We are up here till Thursday if anyone can point us in the direction of some fish that would warrant a few beers in return. Anyone doing anything near Gladstone?  Thanks and be careful.

Well I really don't have anything good to report, fished Thursday-Sunday. Sun up till sun down, between 4 guys we iced probably 15 fish. LOTS of under sized northerns, way more then I've ever seen caught outta lbdn. 4 keeper perch, one nice 13.5". 5-6 undersized walleye and one 25". Definitely the slowest it's ever been in my 11-12 years of ice fishing here! We tried from the days river all the way down to the terrace and marked plenty of fish and just couldn't get them to hit! Slow is definitely an understatement, but it was still fun and looking forward to when the bite picks up! Good luck everyone and be safe

Anyone know if ice has changed at all since Friday with the high winds we had. Heaves in upper bay?

No changes. Ice is in pretty good shape. Some snow drifts but nothing a 4x4 truck or ATV will have trouble with.

Was just out there Yesterday we walked out from Kipling.  The was a guy out there on a wheeler. Was a pretty good stretch of open water off Butler island. Was still a good 16" off ice out farther.

Saw a truck headed towards Stonington yesterday, probably shouldn't be driving out there. Still a good 16-18" of ice but its starting to fracture and shift, had an inch wide crack pop between my feet yesterday ;D
Shorelines could be doubtful in spots, there was open water by BUtlers Island but has skimmed over, heard that someone went through on their wheeler the other day. Headed out today.
