I was there Feb.19/17. Didn't need an extension, but it was close. Just broke through at the very end of the auger.

Thanks dsab! Will bring an extension just in case :)

Its very close.  Some places you need one.  Fishing has been tough.

Hey all, heading up to Tobin this weekend Sat March 11th. How is access or roads since the big snow? Did it get pretty bad up there? Thanks for any info!

was up at tobin last weekend Friday and Saturday was good then the snow started sat night and never stopped, from what I see at this point the lake is unaccessible unless you have a sled, they are talking about plowing another road.

Thanks for the info guys. Tobin Lake Resort says it's inaccesible so we will have to pit that trip off this year. Going to hit Lake of the Prairies for the day instead, sounds like we can get on, or at least its a short trek. Good luck this weekend!

Anyone know if you can drive to parking lot area at flats and sled from there or is the road blown in?

just a heads up to those heading out onto tobin big thanks to vince walker or plowing out on the flats (not sure if hes done it again yet but he does plan on it) and to roger Shipley for plowing around the resort it a big expense and dale noble at the domo/a&w in nipawin has an envelope going for collecting funds for the effort if anyone is so inclinded to drop a few bucks off that would be appreicieted

Thanks for the info. Will definitely stop by the demo if I head up the last week in March.  How's the fishing been on the flats and around the resort?

Hi all,
Have any of you ever found any burbot spawing areas at Tobin?

I was thinking just off of Prudens Point might be one of them.
Yes, no, maybe so? ???

Feel free to PM if you prefer. ;)

Thinking about heading up to fish the flats this weekend.  How is access?  Was there and snow ploughing done?

Any reports on access out to the flats? How's it looking out there? Still lots of snow? Hoping to get out on Friday but not sure of conditions.
