TOBIN LAKE 2016-2017
« on: Dec 12, 2016, 09:41 AM »
For those who are wondering how the ice is at Tobin, averaged about 6" of ice in 24 FOW where I had fished yesterday, it was steady action on the flasher. ended up with 1 white fish 4 perch and 5 walleye and 1 sauger.
8 walleye over 10 pounds since 2014
1 pike over 25 pounds since 2014

13-14" some thin spots as well. big crack at carols cove, and apparently there is a 5 foot high heave at Prudents point. shacks are on the point, serenity bay, the hump, gingaras and im guessing the flats

I have heard of most of the spot at Tobin, but, where abouts is gingaras  that is meantioned on here? ???
Is it on the N side near Pruden's Point, on the S near Tobin Lake resort or on the flats? :-\
Just curious. ;)

Is gingaras a resort area, or just a trail onto the lake? :-\
If it's just a trail, I think I have used it once to access the flats.

It's a resort area. It's the opposite direction from the road to the flats.

Oh I know the place. Think this is 4th year going. Group just keeps getting bigger. Fairly certain shorebird was the only place a couple guys made it other than the cabin.

Heading to Tobin next week.  Hows the snow on the lake?  Will we get around with quads or do we have to round up a couple more sleds?  Thanks

Kind of curious myself.  On my way out there.  Does anyone know if there is good access at the flats?

Just keep an eye out for ice heaves.  They are starting to get drifted in a little.

The fishing has been tough on Tobin this year, hopefully the eyes start going by March when you are there.

I was there Feb.19/17. Didn't need an extension, but it was close. Just broke through at the very end of the auger.
