Always have a second plan

After seeing the madness at an early ice spot mentioned earlier this week, I went to plan 2.  Another "intlet" I passed was frozen over and I saw a just a few folks out,  shouldn't be long before the reservoirs in that area have a cap looking at next weeks forecast.

I pushed on to a trout only lake that and was rewarded with a gate that can close as early as 11/23 still being open, makes for a more enjoyable walk in. Aside from the lone hiker I passed on the road in I didn't see another soul.. priceless.  Got a chance to test out the new electronics in peace and had steady action/scenery to boot

I thought the gate would have been closed by now! Shoot! My back up Friday ended up skiing ! Glad you got away from crowds! And that's a favorite quiet place with better views!

Very nice.  Good call avoiding the madness at the other spot.  I'm heading out in the morning myself and will be avoiding the crowd.  Nice fish.
