Helix 7 Case
« on: Dec 03, 2016, 08:07 AM »
My Helix 7 is now ready for the ice. Since Humminbird will not sell a case at a reasonable price I have made my own. I power this with a 4.5 amp lithium battery. This battery from CTC does not require a special charger. I have used it for 2 winters now and it has never gone dead.

Nice job indeed!  Have you used a Helix on the ice before?  If not, I think you will be impressed.  We used my helix 5 all last winter next to my vexilar.  I have a 7" model now that I am thinking about taking off the boat and using.  But I wonder about battery life compared to the 5" line?

Used it all last winter. Battery is no problem. Mine does not have GPS.
