River was 39 and large deep lake was 43 last weekend.  Have to be a bit cooler now a week later.

Oliver Lake was 40-41 on Sunday, which surprised me and gave me hope for some ice on smaller places relatively soon!

leaving the 26th for New Years in north central Minnesota. It's really looking good up there. Hopefully my ponds will be ready when I get back.

Where you headed?  A group of us are doing the same thing.  Hitting Upper Red on the 27th, Winnibigoshish on the 28th, then whichever produces best on the 29th.  If we get a little squirrely, we may stop over in Duluth on the way home and chase around lakers in the bay.

We will be west of Leech Lake.  In-laws live there. May hit Leech, but there are so many choices in that area you just don't know where you might end up.
