Maskethine Lake

Anyone over by Norfolk fish Maskethine? I am looking for a new Walleye spot.

Try Willow Creek near Pierce for walleye.  Seems like the only walleye caught in Maskethine Lake are caught by accident fishing for pan fish or bass.

I heard great things about the walleye in Maskethine. G&P website said there was a great population there.

For a small- to medium-size eastern Nebraska reservoir that really is too small to be ideal walleye habitat, yes, the walleye population at Maskenthine was exceptional a year ago.  You can see that information here, http://outdoornebraska.gov/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/2015FishSamplingReport_NE-FloodControlReservoir.pdf.  And yes, I heard some reports of walleyes coming through the ice there last winter.

You might expect some of that again this winter, but I cannot say for sure.  We did not sample walleyes at Maskenthine again this fall.

Maskenthine will have some crappies, yep, no doubt.
