Any reports of safe ice in MN? I know they are having the same unusual warm weather but have they had any to get things started?

Most of the cams are of Mille Lacs. Upper Red will get the first safe ice of all the major bodies of water. Looking at their Temps, starting on Wednesday they won't be above freezing for the foreseeable future.

The state has been pretty even from what I've heard this winter so far.  I would guess the northern part will begin locking up next week if not the second week of December.  the weather has been pretty steady in the 30-40 range so my hope is that once the temps go down it won't take long.  Water temps are around 33-35 degrees here on the lakes near me in the north metro.   Temps are going to drop after mid week especially at night.  Mid December is my guess.
