Lake sule/spring lake Rochelle,Il
« on: Nov 24, 2016, 02:00 PM »
Just read a story in Rochelle News Leader paper than Rochelle park district board voted unanimously to ban ice fishing on a recommendation from there insurance company  on lake sule and spring lake! Not that many people fish there and everyone I know checks ice before going on hard water.   This upsets me because it was a place close to home to take the kids to get involved in this obsession we all love!

Yep a bummer. Some subdivision ponds I fish. Now have signage up saying no ice fishing. Major bummer.  >:(

There is a solution though it takes leg work but you need to start a petition and get signatures from tax payers from the taxing body that funds the park district to reinstate ice fishing because there are many communities and park districts that have lakes with ice fishing so I find that a little fishy
early mornings,cold north winds,hard ice,good friends and cold high life..FLAG UP!.priceless
