First Ice

New user here from northern Indiana. Started ice fishing a few years back. This 70° November day really has me thinking it's going to be a late ice season. What are your predictions to when the first fishable ice will be here this year?

Just looked back at my notes from last year.  Jan. 13th was my first day on the ice, then it was on and off until Feb. 17th was my last trip out in Indiana.  Judging by today's temps I'm guessing middle of January again.

Probably around Jan. 28th for us bigger boys to get on around here.  At this point, I'm just hoping Northern Minnesota lakes have 8"+ by the last week of December.  Otherwise it's going to be a real downer of a vacation  :o

Should be some ice by the middle of next month on the usual channels and ponds.  Probably take till January for us big guys!

I pulled some thin ice off my kids trike and stuff today and was throwing it to the dog. Pieces made it through the day still frozen in my yard. I know it's not gonna stay but was nice to see

No real cold temps in 30 or 60 day forecast if you put much faith in that. There is however enough cold temps to possible have thin ice on farm ponds by first of the year. My gut tells me mid January and only lasting a couple weeks. Hope I'm wrong.

Riverredy where do I park to have access to the bird bath. Do you stock it with goldfish or those pretty multi colored carp.
