It's That Time of Year Again!!!

I looked at some pictures from a couple years ago and I was on the ice in late November. I am pretty convinced that won't be the case this year. Backwaters of the Mississippi were in the low 50s and the main channel was high 40s last weekend. There is a good walleye bite casting crankbaits on current breaks in the main channel. SMB in the same areas as the walleyes and LMB are in overwintering areas. And it is supposed to be 70 degrees on Thursday! Maybe we will have ice by the middle of December.

I ALWAYS predict Dec. 13. Not sure why but it has happened before.  Now we are talking 3" so it's somewhat safe.
