Long ways from Montana, but the first lake I will be on is probably Little Atlin for pike and whitefish.

while it is usually Georgetown because it seems to freeze earlier than the big lakes around Helena, you can bet I will be watching the boards and will drive to the first hard water in Montana

Wish I did. I was gonna head out a couple hours ago to check out 6 different mtn lakes, but the wind is a constant 20-30mph w/ on n' off rain. Just didn't feel like putting up with that crap today. Oh well..........hopefull y another day soon.

Georgetown and hopefully the first Saturday after hunting season. It's supposed to be pretty cold tonight and stay below freezing all day tomorrow. Once it's capped it can hopefully withstand some of the warm days yet to come. We'll see.

Where's that 10 day forecast for? If I've learned anything about Georgetown, its that its always one of or the coldest place in western MT. Similar to Butte's forecast but usually still quite a few degrees colder when a cold front comes through.
