Anyone been out to Loneys lately?
How's the bite been out that way?
Hoping to get out tomorrow with the weather starting to improve a bit.
Thanks 😀

how thick is the ice I have a full size F150 is it safe to drive on yet. I wont till atleast 24 inches and I want to go out tomor

By heavy they mean a half ton. Any thing heavier like 3/4 ton or 1 ton diesel I would be looking at 20-24"

Anyone still having some good luck out there?
Still supposed to be pretty nice this weekend with some snow. Hopefully get out there and have some fun!
Cheers!

Could someone tell me if the provincial park boat launch is the access point to that part of the lake? I'm sure it is but not sure if they leave the park open to access the lake in the winter. Also any heaves to worry about around there?

Hey all, just wondering how the fishing has been at Loney's? looking to take a couple first time fisherwomen and kid out this weekend and thought the best chance for them to catch something or see something on the camera might be there. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Someone posted on Fishing Saskatchewan that someone had drilled a hole just down from Lowney's and the water off the top of the ice has eroded away the ice. They stuck a large tree branch in it. There is a warning to stay away from the branch sticking through the ice.

last year in march I found a couple of holes that were really melted away from the bottom to the south of the boat launch at loneys.  While I was looking at it I noticed that air bubbles were coming up from the water.  I do not know what it was but I know I drive straight out from the boat launch at least 150m before I swing down the lake.

Is it recommended to walk on and avoid putting a truck tire in an eroded ice hole?  Or are guys still driving on ?

North end of the lake?

I drove from the provincial park launch to Parkview yesterday and the ice was great.  No heaves or open water that I could see.

Hey I'm looking to take my father in law out ice fishing for the first time. I've never fished Buffalo pound before and could use some advice to where we could catch some perch/walleye. It would be great to make his first time on the ice  a positive one! Any advice is appreciated!

hey guys I will be heading out tomor morn for Lonnies how is the ice with this cold snap again I am pretty sure the truck (F150) should still be good to get across the lake.  This is only my second yr on the ice so I just want to be safe and figured I would ask. im sure we still have 30inches there but if someone could post a thickness it woul be greatly appreciated

I was just out there Saturday, the perch were biting hard in the morning. Ice isn't an issue, over 30". You'll be able to see a couple pressure ridges coming down the hill, but wasn't an issue to find a good spot.

Was out yesterday, slow day, caught maybe 15 - 20 perch all day, was out 11 - 5.  Brought home a sunburn too!

We moved three times looking for better action but nothing better showed up.

Can confirm ice is +30" but there was a ton of water running over the road on the north side flooding the ice yesterday so I'm not sure the shore ice is too safe anymore.

I would be walking out now but that's just me.

Took home 2 nice perch, enough for supper.
