She's locked tight now as long as the weather holds. There's a couple water spots between the causeways but it's allways sketchy there haha

I saw some pics of a few guys fishing on BP this weekend. Anybody have any luck out there? How thick was the ice?

With the temps this week, we should have some pretty good ice by the weekend.  As long as people remember that they need to walk out, things should be good.

I'm thinking we should be at 10-12 inches by Saturday morning.

I'll bet a dollar that someone drives on the ice this weekend

I'll bet a dollar that someone drives through the ice at some lake this weekend. While it's cold enough to lock up many lakes, lakes like whiteswan had a quarter inch of ice 10 feet out from the shore as of Sunday morning and wind can continue to break it up until solid..

Please be safe people!.

I heard we had 6 or 7 inches so I'll be walking out there Saturday and hopefully Sunday as well.

There was a good, consistent 10 inches from Valleyview across to the store at the Provincial Park on Saturday morning.

Unreal. I am shaking my head when I see stupid s$@t like this. How many years in a row when the headlines of a news paper say another vehicle went through the ice. No common sense.

On the bright side the tail light looks to be a ford so that  means the aluminium body wont rust.

The truck went through near North Grove.  Nobody died.

I've only been on the ice near Valleyview (quite a ways away), and on Saturday morning it was consistently a good 10 inches everywhere I drilled.  Good enough to walk on and MAYBE drive a small car, but taking a truck out there would be crazy in my opinion.

Having said all that, this guy drove right into a pressure ridge.  It's not like the ice is too thin to be on, but as always, you need to be careful.  Not sure if this situation was stupidity or inexperience.

This is one of those times you hate being right.. so many stupid people out there. Last year I experience a "trust me bro, I've drove all over this lake all my life and never went through" that ended with a friend of that exact person driving through exactly where I told him he would if he did, as it would happen that part of the lake never got thicker than 10" the rest of the winter while the remainder of the lake was 3'.
