Ice Anchor attachment for drill??
« on: Oct 19, 2016, 03:21 AM »
Has anyone used one of the drill attachments for ice anchors? I have been thinking with the wind we have been having so far this year it might help make set up of the popup quicker. Pros cons?

I have the Clam version ...although it worked ...I didn't much care for the anchors that you could install with the tool ...not very strong and bent quite often...tried them all too.. HT...Frabill ...Clam ..etc...I ended up getting Eskimo style ice anchors ...hands down the best EZPZ in/out w/o tools . Gander mountain has a set of 6 with similar design. Also the added drill you need to bring or forget ...my buddy has had success by drilling a pilot hole with a hand drill before installing his non Eskimo style anchors.

I have the clam anchors. Not the best. A couple buddies use the Eskimo anchors and don't bother with the drill attachment. They say they are the best. I'll be getting a set. The drill attachment is just something else to lose on the ice or forget in the truck!

eskimo ice anchors with eskimo ice anchor installer/remover is the best. the best way to buy them is at gander mountain in a 6 pack in a pouch and leave the installer/driver in the pouch with them so nothing to loose. be careful getting them started the tips are fragile so keep the angle you start them with always or remove them fully to start a different angle.

i have two sets of these.
it's great to have if your carry a drill for your auger anyway and use a pop up hub shanty. shappell is making a new insulated wide house 6500 if your thinking about a change.

the tool

free shipping after 50$

more chatter here about it

the tool can be found on many sites, but not the anchor kit, so if you need both this is the best place to shop.
