Nice! I got pictures on my phone of a doe and couple lambs swimming in hermon pond early one morning last summer.

I used to godeer hunting every year, but now the ticks are so thick on the islands they are worst than blackflies. I shot a buck in 2014 and it had so many tick the skin was just crawling. I pity the poor deer down here. I won't shoot another on the islands again.

Deer swimming: not a surprise. Bear swimming? That was an education for me. A squirrel swimming in WI musky waters? Suicide..... but I've seen it a few times.

My son took this picture as he and a buddy was out Duck Hunting. He said he could not believe what he was seeing at 1st as they were shooting at some duck just before he came out.  He said the Deer just came out took a drink and walked the edge before taking the swim and went thru his decoys.

I was in a tree-stand a couple hundred yards away watching squirrels chasing each other for about 2 hours.

Maybe you should put some duck decoys around your tree stand?

Deer are excellent swimmers, they can swim almost as fast as most people can row a boat!!

Saw a deer run upstream and swim across a deep pool on the Kenabago River once while flyfishing. Very cool.
