havent been ice fishing in 2 years! last winter was great for me open water kayak fishing for smallies perch and largmouth but  i havent been on the ice since that bad winter we had.  i miss jiggin panfish

Funny how you can have two different people talk about having a "bad winter" and it means two completely different things.

Non-ice angler would say a bad winter means lots of snow and really, really cold!

Ice angler would say a bad winter means little snow and warm temps with little or no ice.


I say "Bring on the ice and snow!"

to me a bad winter is any winter with snow....unfortunatley ice making temps and snow come at the same time! I dread another winter with 8" of ice and 2' of snow...that slush takes some of the fun out of it

Wait to you hit 60, you young whippersnapper! I cannot imagine trying to haul that general store on skis that you bring on ice.  ::) See you soon.

its helluva lot colder then it was this time last year. i was fishing in my yak yesterday. the sun went down and everything started to freeze. my rods, reel the water on the paddle.  even saw some ice on a shallow cove  along the shore!

I am half way there! Cant wait bud! I love making that trip! I am hoping by Christmas weekend!
