I just took a drive into the park. Open water from just north of the boat launches to the ski hill.
I'm just trying to get another bite.

Is Evans road not a road allowance?  And if so, it is public access so why can it be blocked?

It's a public road, unless it's chained off by some government entity bring some cutters the next time you visit...

There you go..north end access will be next.there not gonna put up with the mess that's being left there year after year. Crapy situation for those with permys that use Evans and north end access.and that respect the environment.

Its always a select few that ruins things for many. I know it's kind of a "not my problem" situation when you see a mess laying around. But if just a few responsible and respectful people pitch in and clean up messes when we see that stuff we would all be better off. I wish some people would just learn to be respectful and do it themselves but apparently that is too much to ask for. Some lakes are worse for this than others, but lets all do our part to keep all the fisheries in the province  a clean place to enjoy.

Might not be the worst thing to make the lake a little tougher to access with the pressure it sees. Be a little cleaner and maybe a few more fish for ripnflutter and Corney to catch.

...so that corney doesn't just look out of him window. More fish will hopefully convince him to get down there wetting a line or two. ;D

now the issue arises when the huge drifts hit the middle of the lake that side of Evans will not be accessible. Can't say how many times if seen trucks hung up on those 3 foot high drifts when they break through driving over them and there's no way around.

The RM handled it poorly, instead of chaining it off proper signage and a garbage disposal should be put in place.

I agree, but Fishing must go on.  the good news is I took a quick spin by the lake and spudded my way to 22' of water where I like to fish. The wind was a killer or I would be out there now. It's on for me...  ;D

ripnflutter - what kind of ice thickness were you finding out at 22' (or along the way, for that matter)?

4" clear solid in areas that I checked. Also seen open water and some cloudy ice in different areas of the lake. One still needs to exercise caution if not familiar with walking out first ice. There's absolutely no snow so that helps with the visual on ice conditions.. Good luck!

I don't mind sharing our lake with others.

I don't blame those folks at the other end for trying to keep the drunken fools, litters and thieving bustards away. Do have some concerns that come spring it may not be a good idea to make it harder for some of these fools with the ice mansions to get them off the lake by limiting access.

Noticed the road chained off a while ago, Likely people complained about it so they closed it off now the question is can they actually do it ? If you see a grader blading the road then its still likely a road allowance and its chained off illegally.

I took a drive to the north end in the spring and seen all the shacks , why would you leave your shack there ? Take it home or there is storage for $20 a month, If you can haul it to the lake haul it away from it.

Shacks destroyed over the summer, shacks broken into during the winter, i have to wonder if people were going to leave their campers at the campground all winter ? Lots were still there pretty late into the fall not sure if they took them out or not.

Nice to hear the ice getting thick , was wondering there for awhile if guys would be on before xmas.
