for me last ice is the same as first ice you shouldn't take anyone's word on ice conditions if your driving a truck... use your own discretion.

6 hours in front of the boat launch and South of there.  Kept 10 perch that were all 11 to 12 1/2 inches.  But it was slow, not your typical late March fishing, other then size wise.  Going to finish the season with 2 or 3 more days on the North end.

fished from 5-8 last night south of causeway bite was slow also the first hour lots of marks. started off with a small spoon and minnow head.in the end kept some nice perch and even a nice walleye on a different set up. was a great evening looking forward to the rest of the week.

one last go of it. i always try and make it out somewhere on the last day of the hard water season. ice is going fast but still good for walking. perch and walleyes are still biting great time to be out. its been a good season little off on the bigger variety of the walleyes this year for me anyway....everyone have a great summer/fall.. good luck..see you in November.

Went out this morning for the last day, saw two cow moose on the way to the Strap.  Great day with no wind and moderate Sun.  fished from 7:35 to 11:15 with only one bite and one walleye.  Fished the North end, only 3 other people there in the morning.  Its a little tricky walking on as the melt along the shore is happening quick.  Quite slow otherwise, the one fellow next to me missed a jack on a tip up and the guys on my other side caught one perch while I was there.

It was a nice day on the ice, despite the skunk. I was the guy beside you who missed the tipup. I had one more flag right before leaving at 3pm, which was just a hit and run. The ice was ok for walking on, but the shoreline quickly deteriorated after the sun started to shine at noon. Thanks to the guys who brought the pallets out and put them on shore, I'm sure I'd have had some cold wet feet getting off the ice otherwise.

I'm sure the evening bite would have picked up a bit, but that was an unusually slow day for the season close.

Is the ice still on the strap?    Would like to know when open.

Tee Tot, Blackstrap is open completely south of the causeway to the south end.  Not sure about north but looks to be free to Shields.  Have fun!!
