I would get the glow one or the white. If you are fishing in the day time and want to keep light out, black would be best. I do a lot of night fishing and find that it is a pain to try and get things lit up with everything around the hole being black. In the end,  I don't think it matters. On my first attempt at building my own I used blue 5 gallon bucket's and cut the bottoms out with no issues. Now that I have a new shack, I will be looking in to the glow one's personally.  Who knows, the glow ones we may save you from getting wet when trying to find the door at night to take care of business.

I ended up getting the glow ones yesterday since nobody replied.....Figured glow at night would be nice when the lights are off and the rattle wheel goes.

How did the Glow work out for you? I tried a few of the black ones this year and I am considering going to glow for the remainder next year.

Now, I'm curious. What exactly is a hole sleeve and how does it work? I have never seen or even heard of these.

Basically, it is a sleeve that goes into the holes in your wheel house to help keep draft out. I have never been a fan of them until this year when there has been NO snow to bank the house with.

Ahhh ok, that is why I have never heard of them. Thank you. Here we can't take vehicles, atvs, or snowmobiles on the ice. So...no wheel houses

I don't think color makes any difference. They aren't cheap so having 2 different colors seems crazy to me. I do strongly recommend Catch Cover over the the others.

I see  no disadvantages of the glow ones. seems like the perfect thing for night fishing. I know the black are not the answer.

I bet 80% of what they sell is black, why don't you like them?

I bought all glow. They worked really well. was nice when the lights were off at night to be able to see the holes.

the katz covers are hard to beat also....nice to keep stuff from going down the hole.
