2016 La-Nina!
« on: May 26, 2016, 09:04 AM »
ok, the super early long range guesses are starting to come in! And this one is good news. They say that the super el-nino is gone and in it's wake a strong la-nina is going to take it's place. What this mean for the NE is less precipitation and colder than average temps!!!! So far things are looking up for next season! ;D

My wood pile is growing nicely, I'll be ready. As for less precip, well, its bad for our ski/tourism economy but make ice fishing access and construction work go better  @)

yeah, I don't mind a little snow, the ski resorts can make more of their own if they need to as long as it's cold enough. After last year, I'm just hoping for a winter with temps that get below 32 degrees from time to time.

That's great news now lets hope it turns out to be true.  I'm getting my outside projects done and the coal box is getting filled up so I'm ready to go the second we have safe ice.

I am ready, laid up 6 3/4 cords of wood to go with the 3 cord I had left over last winter. I do have a little exterior painting to do on the house but that is good September work  ;D

All you have to do is talk to the snow, it'll melt for sure.   ;D

I read a longrange report today that said the la-nina is gonna fizzle out. There's too much warm water effecting it and by winter it'll be gone. At least there won't be any el-nino. I guess this means a regular run of the mill winter maybe!

Yes, it's looking like a more neutral to a small la nina condition that is coming up this winter.
