Garage Sale Season Finds (Thus Far)
« on: May 17, 2016, 10:36 AM »
Three jigging rods - Two with reels
One BRAND NEW Eskimo hand auger (Red)
Twenty vintage hardwood tip-ups in excellent condition (But Have Names On Them, NY Thing)
Four black medium sized Polar tip-ups (The Plastic Ones)
One larger Polar tip-up, never removed from it's package
Three vintage heavy duty Jiffy skimmers

Total investment, $40, all from only two sales. The people with the tip-ups just wanted them gone!

I do a lot of second hand shopping. Also from the tip-up sale I got a set of Simms waders (xxl) Simms boots (Size 14) and Simms vest (xxl) - Paid $25 and ran to my truck with the Simms stuff! It is on ebay now, I should clear a few hundred easy, the stuff looks unused. It was one of my best fishing scores in 16 years of picking

good find on the coleman stove for $2 O.G.50 cent gps doesn't sound bad either..also nice score mono mono on the tip ups and jiffy skimmers.i didn't like my jiffy skimmer due to weight and size at first but you can smack/chip the ice out of the holes and they are durable.way better than the el cheapo scoops.

Yeah lol - The old Jiffy skimmers could serve as home defense devices. They are stocky

I go out every weekend no matter what. Make the list, get out there and do battle with the competition. You get some, you miss some but generally the ice fishing stuff will be there through the initial rush

I just had a conversation with my mother, I told her to be on the look out for baitcaster reels.  I sent her pics of a few Abu Ambassadeurs and Penn.

thanks goat.it came with a thru hull ducer and a pretty strange ice ducer it a cylinder shape with a float instead of the bullet shape but the manual shows its the ice ducer.its a 1998 model.came with the box and original purchase receipt from gander mountain 229 was the cost back then.its mounted to a cooler but ive got a genz blue box for it that marcum camera for 20 is a great deal also.now tie it to a long rope .chuck it overboard to hold the boat steady in high winds.jk.O.G.

scored 2 penn peerless no.9s mounted on the old school well built wright and McGill 8 1/2 ft downrigger rods for 15 bucks.these work great for sideplaning steelhead setups.also another dual fuel powerhouse coleman lantern for 8 bucks.the cost of coleman camp fuel has driven garage sale lantern prices down I guess.also scored a couple coleman propane stoves for 5 bucks a piece.
