Sad news for Maine fisheries
« on: Mar 24, 2016, 05:46 PM »
Many anglers have known Dave Boucher, Fisheries Management Supervisor and former Regional Fisheries Biologist in the Rangeley region. Sadly, Dave died today of a heart attack.

He was an outstanding biologist, greatly respected by the entire Fisheries Division. He will be greatly missed by colleagues, anglers, friends, and family.

Never new the guy. I hope he lived the life he loved. It sounds like he lived a life that helped many.

The last time I saw him, he looked young and healthy. How old was he -- mid-50s?

Not sure how old, but mid to late 50's. Yes, he always looked happy, and glad to see everyone. It shocked everyone when we heard the news.

It's always a sad situation when good people pass away before their time. It does wake us up, to realize that sometimes we complain about minor things in our lives. Look around you and see those who aren't as fortunate as we are, it makes you appreciate what you have.
So the next time the fish don't cooperate, just be thankful that you at least had the opportunity to be there.

It's a shame that Dave didn't get the opportunity to enjoy a retirement, Salty & many of us can attest to the fact that it would have been well deserved.

Condolences to his family.
