Friend of fishermen, Ernie B.
« on: Mar 22, 2016, 09:43 AM »
It is with a heavy heart that I write today.  I was just notified that a dear friend of mine, Ernie Bontrager, lost his battle with cancer last evening.  For those who don't know Ernie, he was the owner of Travel Tender in Goshen, until his retirement a couple of years ago.  Ernie was one of the nicest people I have ever known.  His shop was still one of the nicest I ever visited.  He would give the shirt off his back to help you.  The fishing advice he gave has aided me greatly over the years and I will carry memories of our chats at his shop with me forever.  You were one of a kind Ernie, I will miss you greatly.  Tight lines my dear friend.

RIP Mr. Ernie. I did not know him well, but my uncle took me there as a child to get bait.

Ernie was my go to man if I ever needed live bait or advice.  He will be missed, for sure.  Great family man!

sorry to hear.., Godspeed Erine
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
