still fishing
« on: Mar 21, 2016, 06:06 PM »
I was not quite ready to put my stuff away yet, so we headed up to Delmoe lake yesterday.  We took a side by side, but there were people up there with pickups.  The ice was 20" and the conditions were awesome.  Two of us caught approx. 20 fish in 4 hours.  What an awesome day to be on the ice on the first day of Spring!  If you are not ready to quite ice fishing just yet, give it a try!

10 to 12 solid white...held my anchors in a 30 mile wind..and 18 inch clear underneath..could drive a semi..well maybe not a semi.. on it...water clarity was poor however....G town is at 6300 feet and had a few nites near 0 last week...a few yrs back I slept in my rig and the invertor I had charging my electric blanket failed..woke up on march 31 to minus 6..with my water bottle half froze next to my head....I did fill the cooler tho....

Went back to Delmoe one last time.  The edges were open, but we had an amazing day pulling out around fifty nice cuts in just a few hours.  My buddy and i took our 4 year old daughters and they had a blast.  We baited a lot of hooks, and they reeled in a ton of fish!  Didn't hurt that it was 60 degrees.  Great way to end the season!
