Sonny's Smelt camps
« on: Mar 17, 2016, 09:18 AM »
When sonny's was opened I only ever made it there once. My wife's aunt owns the land he used to have his operation on. Been debating on whether or not it's worth building a shack to put on down there. Was it good fishing? Or at least comparable to Bakers or Worthings? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Over the years I fished at Sonny's about 30 times. I had more success than failure there with about two gallons per tide being average. I never did that well at Baker's or Worthings. Out of fairness I have to say I only fished Worthing's once and didn't like the crowded conditions and loud drunks. It's a good spot to catch smelts but is it worth keeping the driveway plowed and being ready to pull a shack in a hurry if ice conditions change?

I plow her driveway and take care of her yard anyway so it wont be much of a hassle.  this summers project is cleanin all the old pallets and junk from the landing.  Its a good dual purpose spot to launch duck hunting as well.
