Fish gods were smiling
« on: Mar 16, 2016, 06:46 PM »
The only good thing about daylight saving time is I get to ice fish after work for the last two weeks of the season. I got on the ice today at 4:15 and fished until dark. Holes from three days ago were frozen over with two inches of ice. It was more than I expected to find. I planned to set four traps and jig a 5th line but I didn't get much time to jig between flags. I came home with nine perch, all over a pound and a two pound brook trout. A couple dozen small fish were released. Ice was 14 inches thick and the surface is starting to soften. Hoping the cold forecast from Friday night until Sunday morning makes enough ice to last until the 31st.

I don't have a cell phone or digital camera. I had a camera until a seam on a drybag came unglued. It never worked after that. I probably wouldn't bring a camera on the ice. I don't carry much extra stuff when I'm fishing.
