Gonna fish first lake this weekend. Any ice reports out there?

heading up friday am with jellyroll and his boy. I'm looking for ice conditions from any body thats been out recently, four wheeler travel, and how it is getting on by lopstic cabins, at the boat launch. does treat and treasures still have bait?  thanks guys, any imput would help. thanks again.

Most guys wont tell you if the ice is good because they don't want to be liable for someone falling in !!  Call the camps up there and ask. They are on the lake and see the conditions daily.I myself wouldn't take anyones word dor safety now. Same as early ice..... CHECK IT YOURSELF!!!   And keep checking. 65 yesterday, 55 today , you wouldn't catch my fat arse on any ice!

I rode my sled across 1st CT about 6 times last weekend from one end to the other. People were fishing in portables, 4 wheelers, sleds and even a pickup truck. Don't know if it's changed significantly this week, it may have.

Ive explained it before and ill explain it again, there are 100's of guys who just read this site and never post. So when you see a lot of views, it just means that people with or without accounts opened the thread to read it. don't take it personal like people are ignoring you, there are just a lot more "Inactive" users on this site than active users.

Be Safe I wouldn't bring any kid on the ice this weekend.....

I'm heading up tomorrow.  I'll let you know, but I'm not hopeful.  I was going to check out Francis as well.

as of last sunday, over a foot of ice on first lake. check as you go, be safe.

We got up there friday noon time, then out on the ice. set the shelter up 3/4 of a mile out from the damb on the right shore line heading towards the big part of the lake. 20-50 fow. set out 18 cusk traps, 3 tip ups, and started the jiggen. By sunday noon time, six flags, three salmon released, and alot of small cusk. the biggest cusk was 18 inches. couldnt find the lakers there. thought we had a good laker spot, caught em there b4. Next time up, gonna head out to the plateau, 60-90 fow. Had the best time with JellyR, and the boy. The boy enjoyed my four wheeler more than jiggen. One last note, talked to co eagen sunday, he said that ya gotta get up around two am and get the small cusk off the hooks. the bigger ones come in later.    Tight lines
