Last Outing of the Year

Been a strange year for us. Tried some different spots and most of my "hunches" just didn't pan out. But you'll have that. So anyway with warm temps this week, out of town this coming weekend and a boatload of home projects to get started on, Sunday 3/6/16 was my last trip of the year.

Fished Hog Island, Perch bite was steady and most were of average size, but we did get a few hogs including the 14 incher in the pic below. Caught and released only one pike, but it was 36" plus and 14# or so.  So not a bad way to end it.

That's a nice Pike. We made the 4.5 hour trip up and back Saturday Fished Dillenbeck and hit it out of the park. 9# was our biggest but we iced 60 pike between 5 of us. Great way to end the season.

It was definitely fun, and we couldn't have asked for a nicer day to finish the season.
Hate to do it, but the ice gear is getting put up for the year.
