2016 Fish Chowder

Always a bridesmaid, yet to be the bride...  Yup, third prize again this year.  Twice as many competitors this year and some very serious chefs, too.  Mine was made with mostly my own-grown ingredients and a pike from Hog Island.  Second prize was made with a smoked lake trout and first prize was with smoked white perch and sausage.  (Anyone ever smoked a pike???)  Good fun, a lot of people said very nice things... but I'll have to get there earlier next year, had to run across town with my crock pot in my arms because of the Mardi Gras celebration, hard to get through the crowds, seems everbody wanted a pre-taste...

Nice work!! I was entered in the contest, but yesterday tragedy struck and my chowder somehow curdled! Had a killer smoked lake trout recipe too so it stings to learn a similar recipe got second! Well theres always next year. Yes, I have smoked pike before.
