Bear Lake(kalkaska)

  Anyone ever fish here?  Buddy said his dad used to fish it!  Should still have ice there, said fish very, very fussy there!

I have fished it back in the late 60's for trout. We use to get a few but never very many. It was a very clear lake and when I was on there a few years ago I did not see any weeds. I have never ice fished it but but I have seen a few guys fishing a short ways off the public access. I have heard it is a hard lake to fish and the times I fished it during the summer we spent a lot of hours for very few fish. I guess what I am saying is there are better lakes in the area
