Any ice up in Northwest corner?
« on: Mar 04, 2016, 07:58 AM »
think it's worth a ride up to E Twin over the weekend?  Kids back for college break and wants to hit the ice - thanks in advance for any tips - if head farther North we'll need to get licenses - any suggestions for NY, MA, VT, NH welcome too...

Seriously-Try the Berkshires or farther north. Saw a 20-40 foot patch of ice waay in a back cove of crescent pond; but even my icefishing gear is back in the basement for the season.-Ct.- is done and won't be coming back until next winter-Head north+ good luck!

Yes there is plenty of ice up north, just not here. I'll be on 12+ in vt on Tuesday.

There IS ice up in the northwest corner-went w/ my cousin up to hogsback to fish the Farmington - got a few trout a piece- nice time-saw quite a few anglers all the way up-gate was closed so took the walk across the dam+ was surprised hogsback still has a strip of ice from the boatlaunch to the other shore-only good for the gulls- but it was still surprising-

Yeah; I'm sure all of the New England states are experiencing a short season this year.-I didn't take the shelter out with me once this season-
