Open water
« on: Feb 25, 2016, 04:16 PM »
Anybody doing any open water fishing? If so where at? Looking to do some shore angling this weekend with it being so nice out. Or let me know if you have an extra seat on the boat! I'll fish for anything!

I'll be hitting some local ponds or perhaps Mazonia if the ice out reports are accurate! Ice out can be just as productive as first ice. Unfortunately late ice this year was only 2 days :(

You drive all the way down there? Have you ever tried the Fox?

I have fished the Fox for about 25 years. And Yes I'll drive to Mazonia at least once a week in the spring and fall for big gills and crappie.

I think I might give the St. Charles/ South Elgin dam a try with the weather being so nice this weekend. Ice out crappies sound like fun. Let us know how it goes!
