Felt like Xmas today!

Well I was finally rewarded with a Master Angler Greenback this morning. Then I got a new underwater camera plus a new...............are you ready for this.........YES .....Allan and Rhonda...... a famous got-to-have..... Kamooki Lure  If you can't beat them.....join them I say!
BTW a plain old pink jig  tipped with a salty caught this fish among others that are not as noteworthy

Gee that is quite a compliment thanks BMFTN  Mikeypikey outfishes me because he's out fishing more 
For him it's a career. For me it's a pastime during leisure time 
As Mikey knows, I have to give up ice fishing trips sometimes just to play Pickleball

Now that's a big old "green back" walleye. Congrats blue, on that Master Anger. 

Did you dead stick the salted minnow, and jig with your other rod to draw it in?
I have heard that can be a good double punch for walleye.

What under water camera did you go with?

Sure cool to actually see the fish come in and hit, eh?

Yes, I did that but all the fish were hitting the rod with the pink jig tipped with a full salty while I was continuously moving it. I believe that having a live minnow on the dead stick works better than a salty.
When the LX5 was not marking any fish, I would swap my dead stick with a rattle bait to draw them in. That seemed to work. The Red River water is so muddy that I believe the fish nearby can't see the bait therefore making noise gets their attention. I purchased the Aqua-Vu Micro II, because I have no need to record video and the unit fits in my pocket. I've never used a camera before and I'll be testing it this weekend. My Grandson is eager to see it in action.

Yeah, those lipless rattle baits area great, I use them all the time for pike in the winter and have luck on them for walleye also.

Blue, just a word of caution, be careful with the camera as pike sometimes think it's lunch, at least with my camera I have had a few of them go for the camera head and try and eat it.
A little Aqua-vu micro camera head with it's tiny cord cord may be toast.

Have fun with your new camera, they area a great. I usually just use my sonar to position the set lines in the water column and then watch fish with the camera.
It's amazing how many fish go by with out biting. Always fun, but frustrating at times,lol.
