Ice conditions in NYS

Hi! Does anyone familiar with ice conditions on Long Island or else not far from NYC? will it be possible to go on ice this weekend?

Sorry Andrew, if you want to hit the ice your going to have to drive a bit. I live in the NYC area as well and there hasn't been any fishable ice this far south at all. I've made a few trips up north this year to get out on the ice, expect to drive at a minimum two hours with the weather being the way it has. I just talked to a field office in orange county yesterday and none of the lakes i asked about had fishable ice. If you want more detail feel free to PM me.

A friend of mine is ice fishing and texting me as I type this - 12" inches (Chenango Co NY)
