TRADGEDY AT EAGLE LAKE
« on: Feb 14, 2016, 04:35 PM »
A fisherman slipped and fell on the ice at Eagle Lake by Strathmore yesterday.

Seems he hit his head and I have been told  died at the scene.

Be very careful and wear good cleats not the ones that just have pointed ends.

Prayers to the fisherman and his family for sure.

Is it sometimes a fish being caught or you?

I don't believe it is gossip.  I see this on another Alberta board.  Just because it is on 2 boards doesn't of course make it true but we should have a media report in a day or so if it is.  If it is, that sucks.

Maybe you should stay in Conn and quit wondering what is happening in Alberta.  That kind of comment will not win many friends.  But to put your doubtful mind at ease I know 2 guys who were there, one witnessed the accident and another was there when the emergency units arrived.

What a sad tragedy.

My thoughts are with this man's friends and family.

I took my sister out for the family day fishing weekend ... We hit two lakes... One of them was eagle.. I can bear witness that there were 4 rcmp cars and an ambulance ..we decided to call it a day and drove off where the ambulance was . The ambulance did not have it's siren on as it
left directly in front of us ... While
I can't verify that someone died, it is what was reported elsewhere and I can only give credibility to the fact that RCMP and EMS were on scene .

Wear cleats guys ... I would hate to hear any more stories along this line. Be safe my fellow fishermen and women

From another web site the gentleman did not fall and hit his head. Apparently he had a heart attack on the ice.
